2011 PEP Village Trustee Candidates

| Ryan Patrick Evans, a lifelong resident, resides in Brookfield with his wife Meaghan, and daughter Nora. He is seeking his first term as trustee. Ryan has worked for the past seven years as a social studies teacher at S.E. Gross Middle School, teaching history and civics. He also serves as team coordinator for the seventh grade. Ryan has been Vice President of the teacher’s union for the past four years, working as a liaison between staff and management in disciplinary action, chairing membership, and aiding in the negotiation of the ground-breaking teacher’s contract this past year. Ryan graduated from Monmouth College, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in history and receiving a minor in the classics. Last year, Ryan completed his Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University (Chicago). Ryan currently serves the village as chairperson of the Beautification Committee. In his role as commissioner, he has aided in expanding the Project N.I.C.E. village cleanup event and helped lead the recent community art initiative in town. Working with various community groups and residents, this initiatives focus will be to instill pride and promote involvement for and within Brookfield. | ||||||||||
| Charles "CP" Hall is currently a Village Trustee for the Village of Brookfield, having been elected in 2007, after having been appointed in 2005. CP previously had been elected as Trustee, serving from 1991 until 1999. While on the Board, he has served as Finance Committee Chairman, liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Board of Local Improvements. CP has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He is retired from the C. P. Hall Company, a multi-million dollar chemical company where he worked in all aspects of the firm, from purchasing and sales to inventory control to serving on the Board of Directors. CP is a decorated military veteran, having served in the Army, seeing duty in Vietnam. He is a 40 year resident of Brookfield, and is married with two daughters. CP is also active in the Village as a volunteer and member for the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce, the Brookfield/Riverside Rotary Club, and Brookfield Kiwanis Club. | ||||||||||
| Kit Ketchmark is a lifelong resident of Brookfield, having resided in the Hollywood area for the past 23 years with his wife Kathy and two sons, Cameron and Trent. Kit served as Village Trustee from 2001-2009, serving as Finance Chairman and liaison to recreation and conservation committees. He is the President/General Manager of a 30 year old landscape construction and design firm where he oversees all aspects of the business including budgeting and forecasting, marketing, and project management. He graduated from Lincoln School in Brookfield in 1978, and then from Lyons Township High School in 1982. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, majoring in finance and human resource management. Kit has served as Director of the Brookfield Historical Society since 1993, was co-chair of the Mainstreet Brookfield Promotion Committee, and has been Little League Team Sponsor, Coach, and Manager for more than 10 years. One of Kit’s most interesting and rewarding projects was leading the group that restored and rededicated the F-86 Sabre Jet Korean War Memorial in Jaycee Ehlert Park. Kit is a member of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and the Hollywood Citizens Association. In 2009, Kit was awarded the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award by the Illinois Humanities Council for his service to the community. | ||||||||||
