PEP
endorsed Library Board Candidates
The
Brookfield Library is one of the finest libraries in the area. PEP feels
these candidates bring a wealth of experience to the table, and are
the most qualified candidates for the Library Board.

Dianne
Duner, a 37 year resident of Brookfield, was elected
Library Trustee in 2001, after having been previously. She is employed
by School District 106, where she began as a teacher of French and
gifted education, and is now Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
She holds a Masters Degree in Education. Dianne also finds time
to volunteer as a stage manager for the Community Theater of the
Highlands. This theater produces American Musical Theater, and allows
parents, children, and members from neighboring communities to perform
as actors, vocal artists, instrumental musicians, stage hands, and
sound technicians. |

Barbara
Garvey, a lifelong resident of Brookfield, was elected
Library Trustee in 2001, and is currently serving as Secretary of
its Board. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher in the River
Forest School District, after having received her Bachelors in Education
from the University of Illinois. Married to Brookfield Village President
Michael Garvey, Barb also keeps busy as a volunteer for the American
Cancer Society and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Louise de Marillac.
Mike and Barb have 3 sons. |

Jennifer
A. Oberhauser is a life-long resident of Brookfield,
married to Brian who serves on Brookfield’s Beautification
Committee. She graduated from the University of Chicago with an
Honors Degree in History. Jennifer is currently employed by the
Art Institute of Chicago as a registrar. She travels as a courier,
both domestically and internationally, with artwork when it travels
for exhibitions. Her travels have recently taken her to London,
Madrid, and Zurich. Jennifer has been active with the Friends of
the Library. |

Jonathan
Platt, along with his wife, Dr. Patricia Cole, have
been residents of Brookfield for the past 12 years. He is currently
a Trustee for the Brookfield Library, having been appointed in 2005.
Jon received his Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University,
and then went on to obtain his Masters Degree in Clinical Social
Work from Tulane University. Jon has worked as a social worker for
more than 30 years, helping people to connect with needed resources.
One of his special areas of expertise has been in helping seniors
and their specific needs. Jon has served as President of the Friends
of the Library, where he has worked to bring attention to the importance
of the library. |
